Traditionally artists are creatures of habit and limit themselves to conventional venues, subjects, methods and materials. Challenging this I am always looking for areas to change my approach. 

I think the greatest privilege as an artist is to have the ability to reinvent yourself on every project and most of all to use art as a platform for change. In the past we have used art sales as a means to house, aid, and feed.

Gerald, myself and La Raza group have been involved in many projects ranging from working with architects designing restaurants and pool halls, to fund raisers for the homeless, AIDS hospices and Amnesty International.

Thus one summer evening, reminiscing over our starving artist days at my cottage in Cape Breton, Gerald and I conjured up the idea of a cookbook and agenda for students.

This book is a practical and portable approach to cooking, cheap and quick. It includes recipes we have used over the years. Please feel free to change, modify and most of all be creative with them.
